Yes it is painful. Especially when using the very very tight castration bands. Sometimes I separate each testicle and put a band round each one, the effect is great, but the pain becomes too much after about 15 minutes. Pains in back and round the Kidneys. Also removal of bands can be painful. It stings like crazy when you cut the bands, or you have to try and get your fingers under them, and stretch the band and slide it off the testicles, but that puts a lot of pressure on, and more pain.
