There's been some chatter lately about Emergency Contraception, so I've found a very thorough website about it because it's not as simple as just swallowing a pill. There are drug interactions and side effects and all kinds of information that one should thoroughly be aware of when taking this pill.

So here you go:

Even though this pill is readily available, please folks, always practice safe sex. If you're not ready to be a parent, do everything in your power to avoid that happening.

my boyfriend has a child from a previous marriage and when i lost my virginity to him we did use a condom but being that i was so nervous about it all i rshed out and got the emergency contraception too.

it was hugely expensive and a big waste of time now i feel because the condom was intact and i was not unprotected.

afterwards i researched the E.C and realised that i'd purchased it needllessly. don't be dumb like me.

i didn't cause myself any damage i know but it left me out of pocket all because i was nervous.

I'm totally against emergeny contraceptive pills. I agree with Ann, if you aren't ready to be a parent then use a condom.

Well, as there are cases of girls who're not always "wlling participants" in sexual encounters, emergency controception is a good thing to have. I know someone who had a child fathered by rape. I wouldn't be able to do what she did, and would be demanding EC from whatever doctor I saw, had it have been me. So while I think it's not something that should be used as a primary form of controception, I think it has a purpose.

Cherry brings up a very valid point. In where as it should not be used as a regualr method of birth control there are circumstances where it is a necessary procaution. Unfortunetly there are pleanty of people out there and I stress people because not all the responcibility should rest on the woman's sholders who use abortion as a method of birth control. Now not getting philosofical on anyone's right to choose what so ever but people who do such things as well as people who choose to use the EC in the same way are totally irresponcible.

So like many other things created by modern science yes they in deed do have a place but they should respected and not be abused.

Please understand that I'm not against this pill at all. As Cherry & Budde said, it does have a very important purpose. I just don't want to see it abused, that's all.

And sometimes when using a condom, like a responsible person, it breaks. In situations such as that, one is very happy that emergency contraceptive pills are avaliable.

it happened to me, my first time. the entire ordeal was so embaressing, i was 17 and my first time was interupted by the condom breaking and the next day trip to a clinic to obtain the pill. shit happens and you have to deal. it's a choice just like choosing abortion or condoms, birth control or a rhythm method. no ones right and no ones wrong, it's just what you feel is good for you.
